Know before you go Find a place for your dog
A dog policy needs a source and a date.
We record where dogs can go, the restrictions that apply, and how the information was checked. A friendly label alone cannot tell you whether a place works for your dog.
What the labels mean
- Official policy checked
- We reviewed published rules on an official business or government website. The source and review date are shown. This is not an in-person visit or an owner confirmation.
- Verified
- A PupsWelcome reviewer has directly confirmed the policy, with the method and date recorded. It does not guarantee admission if conditions or rules change.
- Owner confirmed
- An authorized business representative confirmed the policy. Ownership of a listing and confirmation of its rules are separate checks.
- Community reported
- The information comes from a visitor report. Read the source, date and any conditions before relying on it.
- Unknown / not confirmed
- We do not have enough evidence for that rule. An unknown fee does not mean free, and an unknown weight rule does not mean every dog is allowed.
Freshness and conflicting reports
The confirmation date tells you when the evidence was checked. Policies older than 90 days need another check before a visit. A new policy revision must have new confirmation evidence.
If reviewed reports disagree, we flag the conflict. Contact the venue directly about unresolved rules, seasonal access and your dog’s specific needs.
Using the map and sources
Map points may indicate a property rather than the exact dog entrance. Follow official venue directions, signs and posted rules. Source links let you read the original policy and check for updates.
